JUST SO YOU KNOW…

ARTISTIC STYLE

I am so honored to be a part of your special event. It is my goal to make you happy! Before committing to work with me, please take some time to review my work to ensure that my artistic style, esthetic, and ability is a good fit for you. The work I create for you will be the same quality of what you see here on my website.

HANDWRITTEN WORK

Please remember that the beauty of hand-written calligraphy is the natural variation in letterform, unlike text that is generated on a computer. My hand will not make every letter exactly the same every time. And these variations are part of the beauty of calligraphy as an art form.

LICENSING

As the artist, I am the sole owner of all artistic rights. Commissioned art is for personal use only. Commercial licensing agreements are available.

PHOTOGRAPHY

You are welcome to share photos of my work on social media. Please credit me with “Calligraphy by Deborah Mintcheff of TheArtfulPen. On IG, please tag me with @theartfulpen.

QUANTITY CHANGES

If the quantity of guests or products changes after payment or the deposit is made, the original agreed-to terms remain in effect.

TEXT SUBMISSION

Provided text will be written exactly as submitted. For commissioned pieces, no changes can be made once the work has begun. Names/address lists may be submitted as a Word doc or Excel spreadsheet. It is important to submit lists by the agreed to date to avoid a delay in the order deadline.

ADDITIONAL BLANKS

For projects, such as envelopes and place cards, please provide a minimum of 20% additional blanks (minimum of 10), as errors are inevitable in hand-produced work.

CORRECTIONS

Please review the final order upon receipt to be sure there are no corrections needed. If any corrections are needed, please email a complete list within 72 hours of delivery.

CALLIGRAPHED MAIL

Please note that automated postal scanners sometimes have trouble reading hand-written envelopes. Any address that cannot be read by machine is routinely hand-inspected and mailed by the postal employees. To be safe, check with your local post office when ready to mail your envelopes.
